Echo Blues Alive VII
On 12th March we may meet again to pass the time waiting for the autumn festival Blues Alive and enjoy the seventh year of ECHO in the House of Culture.
This little brother of the greatest domestic blues event tries to keep its essential dramaturgic idea, which is the pursuit of the biggest variety and no perseverance to essential blues style. Each of the five artists performing on the stage, plays actually different music – nevertheless, they have the same roots and certainly it cannot be ruled out that in the end they all will get together during jam sessions after the ending of the regular programme, as it has become common in Šumperk blues events.

fter the extraordinary success of the Chicago blues line in the last year of Blues Alive the Echo dramaturgy has again decided to present another pearl of this scene. The major festival star is a female singer Deitra Farr, one of the most respected singers of the contemporary Chicago blues scene, highly prized not only in prestigious annual awards overseas (W. C. Handy Awards, Living Blues Critics Awards), but also in Europe (Great Britain, France). She started her career in the 70s and she has participated in recording about twenty albums. An interesting thing is that besides singing she goes in for journalism, which she graduated from at university. Deitru Farr will be accompanied by the guitarist Rene Trossman, based in Prague, and his extended band, including a wind section.
Another artist at this year's Echo is well- known to regular visitors to Blues Alive. 
The Australian guitarist Gwyn Ashton achieved great success in the main programme of Blues Alive two years ago. The Austrian band The Roosevelt Houserockers and their raw street sound captivated the jury of the last year's selecting contest Blues Aperitiv, as well as hundreds of visitors to Blues Alive, who they welcomed in the lobby of the Culture House and said goodbye to as a home band at one of the final jam sessions. The strong Slovak scene will be this time represented by the group Bonzo & The Resonators, which will present a blues legend Peter Bonzo Radványi as their front man and also two other phenomenal players, the guitarist Ivan Tomovič (Bluesweiser) and the harp player Erich Boboš Procházka. The only representative of the Czech scene will be „the power duo" Abigail Ybarra - the group that was without a shadow of doubt the greatest discovery in the last year's Blues Alive and surely also one of the biggest surprises of the 15-year festival history – their performance has been highly spoken of by many visitors up to the present day.
