Walter Trout Joins the Lineup of Blues Alive 2025
<p>We are thrilled to announce that leading American blues-rock guitarist and multiple Blues Music Award winner Walter Trout has joined the lineup for this year’s Blues Alive festival. The festival program continues to grow with the addition of Jerron Paxton, a remarkable multi-instrumentalist who brings to life the earliest roots of blues, Cajun, and early jazz music, and acclaimed American guitarist, vocalist, and music historian Elijah Wald. Midnight jam sessions will be opened by the energetic Chicago-based band The Claudettes. </p>
Join Us for the Blues Alive Tour Chicago 2025
<p>From June 2–10, 2025, we're hosting our second annual journey to the roots of the blues in Chicago. Over the course of eight days, we'll visit numerous memorable sites associated with the history and present of the blues, including the famed Chicago Blues Festival. You'll experience places you wouldn't discover on your own and hear historical insights you won't find anywhere else.</p>
Announcing 26th Edition of the Blues Aperitiv Competition for Blues Acts
<p>The Blues Aperitiv music competition, open to blues and blues-inspired artists, welcomes bands and solo musicians from any country. The highlight for the winners is the opportunity to perform at the Blues Alive 2025 festival, scheduled this year from November 14 to 16. The deadline for entries is March 1, 2025.</p>
Blues Alive 2024 is over, we invite you to the next edition
<p>Dear visitors, dear performers, dear colleagues, a few days ago, the 28th Blues Alive festival ended. Once again it made Šumperk the European capital of blues music for three days. Although we are just beginning to wake up from the "Šumperk dream" we know for sure that we were present at one of the best festival editions so far which is confirmed by the numerous positive responses to both the program and the overall course of the event.</p>

<p>The 28th edition of Blues Alive kicks off in Šumperk on 14 November. It will feature over thirty top of the crop international acts. The featured genres will range from classic guitar blues to its Delta acoustic form, through Americana to garage rock.</p>
